There was a list of options of ‘What To Do’ for today… beautiful weather made the beach win out!
We picked up our cousin, Fiona and her dog, Alice and went down to Black River Beach, as it had been a while since we were there.
Beautiful sunshine and warm sand
So nice to squiggle your toes in it!
Despite sternly telling myself I had enough shells… I still managed to stuff both side pockets of my backpack with a ‘few’ special ones.
It was easy to just keep on walking (Not least because there were no mountains ahead or heavy packs…)
Then I had a poetic moment…
“If I had a single wish
It’d not to be a puffer fish
Washed up on the shore alone
Upside down and dry as bone”
Always such interesting things on this beach!
As usual I get a bit behind the group!
I tested the water – brrrr
I used the fisheye lens again today – just for fun and weirdness
We really enjoyed ourselves out there today!
We came back home and indulged in a platter of bits and pieces for a very late lunch!
Hope everyone’s weekend is just as beautiful!
Cheers!
Beautiful photos; thanks for sharing your piece of what always looks like paradise! Are some of those taken with a fish eye lens?
I see you did mention the fish eye lens in your post 🙂
Thanks Teri – and yes, you answered the fisheye lens question! I used it the whole day – just for fun 🙂
The fish eye lens sure adds a twist to your photos. I like how the colours blend in the last one of the tidal river rising. When I was in Mexico we found dead puffer fish on the beach as well, having such small fins must make them more likely to wash up, I guess. We just had snow for the past couple of days, over 16 cm (a lot of it melted as it fell yesterday), so your photos are really nice to enjoy!
The fisheye is a fun lens to muck about with!
I also liked the colours in the tidal river!
Wow – still getting snow!! brrrr – we are cooling down. Fire on most evenings. Its cold now and I am ready to snuggle into bed! 🙂
What a wonderful beach to roam!! I love to go beach combing to find special treasures!! It looks like this beach would be my favorite with all the different shells, puffer fish and wood!! I always lag behind too, Lisa. I don’t understand how people can just walk over such beauty’s! Thank you for the lovely walk.
Hi Pat – It really is a fabulous beach for finding treasures! I was eyeing off some driftwood but left it all there this time!! 😀
oooo – don’t you worry – the others picked up their fair share of stuff! haha – its just I am picking up stuff AND taking photos so I am twice as slow!
Tomorrow I will have to get some photos of the bits and pieces we collected.
