Hello! How was the weekend?
I wrote up an ambitious ‘to do’ list for today and got through everything except cutting up those chillis!
Firstly was to finish the first coat at the front of the house.
Tick. I needed both ladders to do this. (Jeff sleeping today) So I wasn’t super fast, but it didn’t take as long as I thought it might.
I followed that job up by bagging up the rest of the mushroom compost out of the trailer. We need to make a trip to the tip soon so it will be handy to have the trailer empty!
Make part one of the next batch of ice cream (tick) (Yes the recipe requires eggs)
Make Pesto! Tick!
On a side note, I finally got some roots happening with the basil cuttings!
Prepare ingredients for tonights zucchini slice dinner (another tick)
Step one.. go pick some carrots and whatever else is out there…
Step two… chop and grate
I moved the sprinklers all over the place today to give some of the dry areas a good soaking. The ground is cracking!!
I also spent some time getting my challenge photo for the subject of ‘recreating art’ and I think I like the result… but will post tomorrow as its not due in the challenge until the day after tomorrow.
THEN it was a speedy trip to Ruby’s to plant some lettuce before coming home to cook my zucchini slice.
I like getting lots of things crossed off a list!
Cheers!
PS anyone else having issues with getting/not getting the blog post emailed to them? Suddenly wordpress doesn’t want to send me my own posts!! I can’t figure out why but to be honest I have spent very little time trying to problem solve this one 🙂
I get your blog posts emailed to me every day! 🙂
Thanks Caroline! Seems I am the only special one that has been dropped/blocked! haha
I’ve gotten your email blog daily. No problems. Lovely trip you took up that craggy rocky mountain. Wish I could do that kind of think but have never been good with boulders and scrambling over rocks.
Thanks Carla.. glad you are having no probs with the emails. Yes – that climb was a bit epic! 🙂 Still… there are lots of other walks around there that don’t involve rock climbing, so people can choose their own level of comfort which is great! Love going up there!
Lisa, I got your blog email today! Please share what “zucchini slice” is. I used my last bag of frozen chopped zucchini in last night’s spaghetti sauce, which looked similar to yours. Great job painting, go girl!
Janet
Hi Janet!! Thanks re painting! Its a satisfying job to get into.
Re zucchini slice – it is more flat than loaf style, but essentially a cross between a loaf and an omelette! I will post a recipe tonight for you. It involves 5 eggs, some flour, oil & bacon as well as the vegetables and makes a wonderful side dish. We just ate a big slice with salad on the side. Zucchini really is the great filler in cooking!
Gives me something to blog about in case I am boring today and do nothing 😀
I am guessing Americans would call it loaf cake (zucchini bread)!?
Thanks Samantha!
I’ll post a photo of the finished slice and the recipe so we can compare to the American version!! 😀
Thanks. I thought zucchini slice was some sort of savory dish or coleslaw thing.
Yes. Zucchini bread.
American here.
Carla
Hi Carla… I quickly googled zucchini bread and my slice seems quite a lot different. Ruby makes a zucchini loaf that looks similar though (and very tasty!) I will post recipe & photos of mine tonight so you can see 🙂
Lisa your home is looking lovely with your new paint the Vegs look delish. I did enjoy seeing the walk you took through the trees tops. Hope u
Have a grand week and Ms RUBY Is doing great!!
