Last night our friend Rachel called and asked to come and stay for a few days – from tomorrow! Sure!! Excellent!!
But it did mean leaving my beloved garden for a day and attending to some housework to scrub the place up a bit.
The nice thing about spring when you have some visitors, its easy to brighten up the place with flowers.
Tedious as I find housework, I did have a lovely time picking flowers and filling every available vase and vase-shaped pot in the house.
Most of these iris were drooped over the lawn and since Jeff was mowing (again!!) today, I thought I would pick all the awkward ones and enjoy them inside.
Even after picking so many flowers – it doesn’t make a dint in the garden at all! Awesome time of year!
A happy traveller through life!
Right now living in NW Tasmania with a gorgeous Nurse-Husband, a fool of a Siamese Cat and several chickens.
We love our fairly simple lifestyle of growing a lot of what we eat and enjoying the stunning surrounds of our little patch.

Hi Lisa- it is so lovely to see beautiful bouquets as we are in the depths of autumn where everything has succumbed to the change of seasons!
We have had record rains here and very little sun. I run outside for a walk the minute the rain stops to get fresh air and enjoy my neighbourhood. The photos of your neck of the woods are beautiful! And I love your visits with Ruby. My mom is 96 and was a wonderful gardener. She now has dementia and is in residential care. I know she would love to still be in her garden if she was able. Ruby is such a delight! Please pass on my birthday wishes to her!

Hi Robyn!
Glad you got out for a walk despite getting lots of rain! Seems universal right now!
I will be sure to wish Ruby a happy Birthday for you! I hope your Mother is doing well… Dementia is a tough thing to watch for family. I am sure her garden was a source of delight for her and the family. I am so glad I grew up with gardens and keen gardeners!
Hope your weather is a little nicer for you before setting in for winter!
I am hoping for some nice days to do some walks with my visiting friend!
