Lamb-Sitting

Hello!
A bit gloomy out there today. But I was up bright eyed and bushy tailed to take delivery of Frankie for the day!
(Yeah – nah… I don’t wake pretty)
Anyway, Frankie was great. She wouldn’t drink her morning bottle but was more interested in nosing about everywhere. And since I am not her ‘mum’, she wasn’t interested in following me about!
So I popped her in the veggie patch with me so she could have some exercise while I mulched the garlic and onion.

As well as these two patches I also mulched the bottom garlic patch. They are all set and I can ignore them until the weather turns warm.

Meanwhile, Frankie bounced about everywhere and chewed random things.

I put her back for a rest and she didn’t start bleating for a bottle until 1pm. She was awkward about taking it but I ‘insisted’ and she was soon guzzling away.

I think the plum tree is at its best right now! Its such a delight to see as you walk down the back – no matter the weather!

Its just a mass of blossoms! Bliss!

I thought about making choc chip bickies, (cookies) and also thought about making soap… but then I thought about the dishes. And didn’t.
Maybe tomorrow.
Anyway, since I got to bed horribly late last night… tonight I am going to aim for ‘early’

Whats the weekend plan everyone?
Cheers!

A happy traveller through life! Right now living in NW Tasmania with a gorgeous Nurse-Husband, a fool of a Siamese Cat and several chickens. We love our fairly simple lifestyle of growing a lot of what we eat and enjoying the stunning surrounds of our little patch.

  1. How sweet that little lamb is. I have been kitten sitting for almost 12 weeks now. Someone threw out a mamma cat who was soon very pregnant and had kittens. We have a coyote problem in our neighborhood so mamma and her babies have been on our screened in back porch. We have gotten so much pleasure out of watching the babies grow. Mamma took a trip to get herself fixed so there would be no more babies. The babies will be ready for the same trip in October and then will hopefully go to new homes. We will keep one of them as inside cat because she is unfortunately lame.

    1. Warms my heart to think of you making sure Mumma cat and her babies have been looked after – not to mention fixed up! I do love cats but understand what a problem they can be. I will NEVER understand people who discard animals. Never. At least there are beautiful people out there that make things a bit better for those animals.
I hope your lame kitty will be a delight for you. šŸ™‚

  2. Lambs are the sweetest looking babies….I can only comment on their appearance because I’ve never actually taken care of one!

I’m spending much of my weekend babysitting a baby kid, my grandkid.

    1. lol – they are just adorable looking aren’t they? Its a big job for my cousin… and a lot of floor mopping! But she would have died without the help.
I am looking forward to Monday and hoping the weather is nice so we can hang out in the garden together haha
Hope you have a lovely weekend playing with the baby!! šŸ™‚
