Despite the fact we were heading out to a BBQ this afternoon, I just had to get in there and pull up the white garlic. Couldn’t wait any longer!
Wow… so happy with this seasons SUPER harvest!
90% are BIG. A few good sized and probably only five small.
Will spread them out tomorrow for a good look (and see if I have exaggerated or not) and decide where and how to hang and dry this season.
Its so much fun pulling them up after 6 months growing to see what you’ve got lurking under the soil!!
The purple garlic is next on my radar but won’t be nearly as impressive this season
I’ll choose a different spot for them next time.
The BBQ was put on by a workmate of Jeff’s who had retired – really nice to meet lots of his fellow nurses and their families.
I made a pavlova last night, then filled with cream and topped with strawberries before we left.
It was demolished within about 5 minutes!! haha… should have made two!!
(If you are not familiar with this dessert, its basically a really big meringue baked and cooled, then goes on top your cream and fruit.)
Hope you are having a great weekend!
Cheers
😍
Your garluc looks fabulous!
Good garlic is the result of great soil– lots of work on your end!
Keep it up!
Thanks so much! Really exciting to harvest!! Its been raining a lot so I am putting off the purple garlic harvest.
Would love a “how to” meringue post. Yours always look spectacular!
Merry Christmas from Canada.
Hi… I’ll post something soon with the recipe I use for the pavlova!! Merry Christmas!! Hope you have a wonderful day!
