Some Sunshine!

A bit of a chance to sneak outside today and get that remaining wood stacked and under cover!
The girls were off on a school trip to Cradle Mt where they got to see snow for the first time!
Unfortunately, at this time of year, not much time is available to really have a decent amount of time up there to experience it, but they seem to have enjoyed themselves anyway. (Basically I think they did 4 hours of bus travelling and 3 hours at Cradle!)

This pile of wood wasn’t getting any drier out here, so it was great to be able to work outside for a while and get it all stacked.

Look what I found!! Plum blossoms!
The promise of spring??

Its a bit exciting seeing things start up again… even though I know we have a while to go

I sat Pip outside for a while so he could photosynthesis for a while

The other night when I went to a gathering for hosts and students I spotted a fab bit of driftwood on the beach so Kirrily and I exited stage left from dinner and snaffled it, popped it in the car then went back to socialise. πŸ™‚

Cousin Jeff has been dropping off pallets for us which is awesome! I plan to use them to create the new garden fence.

Another bag popped into existence…Β  mostly did it last night but finished it off today. Nobody is going to want it though because I tested it to see if it fit big (unimpressed) cats inside…

Anyway, I promised the troops hamburgers tonight so I better get cooking!
Have a great day/evening

Cheers

A happy traveller through life! Right now living in NW Tasmania with a gorgeous Nurse-Husband, a fool of a Siamese Cat and several chickens. We love our fairly simple lifestyle of growing a lot of what we eat and enjoying the stunning surrounds of our little patch.

    1. Hi Hazel! That driftwood looks so good in my garden. Keen to scout about for more! Found an amazing weathered log down in the paddock but its huge and will have to stay where it is!

  1. Pip looks smashing in that bag AND scarf! I miss Ruby Tuesdays. How is she doing? Someone came into the party store where I work today to get a tiara for their friend’s 104th (!) birthday! Ruby immediately came to mind. I hope your winter hasn’t been too hard on her. Lovely piece of driftwood also. I am so jealous of how close you are to the ocean!

    1. 104!!! Wow!! Thats fabulous! I did go in and have a cuppa and a chat with Ruby the other day which was great! I feel quite remiss about not doing Ruby Tuesdays for so long. Its been a chaotic year! She is doing really well although ready to head into warmer weather as we are all a bit tired of the rain and gloom. Not long and I will have to get into her garden to put up the frames for her ‘Christmas Peas’
Yes… I really love living close to the ocean. Really lucky!

  2. We have missed you! Sorry it ended up not going so well with the girls! What a disappointment! I hope you won’t give up on it forever since it seemed like you were excited for it.

    1. Hi! πŸ˜€ You are right. I was quite disappointed that I didn’t enjoy the student hosting like I thought I would! Its all a learning experience though. If I decided to do that again I would have to approach it differently with a bunch of rules and a different mindset.
Still… we have had some totally awesome people here this year, so those experiences outweigh the last one! πŸ™‚
